I suppose that, for those of use that weren't born blind, imagining a world without the use of visual stimuli would be difficult. I would guess the closest thing I could think of off the top of my head would be a room with a lot of stuff in it. There are no lights in this room and you're never allowed in it. Assuming your eyes never adjust to take in a minimum amount of light, you would get use to that room and the objects within. You'd never know their color, but you'd know their scent, weight, position, texture and taste. Unlike the man that was born blind you have the knowledge of the differences between light and dark and you know what colors are which. But, in that room, you are equals.
Maybe that's not what you were saying. Maybe you were saying that it's hard to imagine a world in which you can't be there to observe it in any capacity, including the use of your imagination. In which case, I agree.
It was one I thought up on the spot. Most people have problems with the tree one. There are many thoughts on the subject, one is that sound is actually defined as the interpretation the brain makes out of signals formed by the inner ear. NOT the physical process involved in creating the pressure it takes to cause a gas or liquid to form pressure on the inner ear in the first place.
I take the latter while deeper thinkers take the former.
The asteroid one is a more complex issue, though I tend to take the naturalistic route.
It looked different, though your rather complicated style of illustration doesn't vary often between comics. You have a miraculous way of making it extremely consistent, as if you TRY to make it consistent subconsciously. All I need to do is measure the head size and know how serious you are by how the head only fluctuates in size by mere millimeters on every character. That and your use of black is very symbolic. I feel the essence of the anti-elitist being channeled through your works like the spirit of the beatniks being reborn.
It makes me feel like I'm alive, sitting in a smoke-filled basement, sucking down cheap coffee, wearing all black, and reciting emotional prose that would later be described as "Emo" when being anti-establishment has become an outdated cliche.
Furthermore the simplification of the limbs of all the people as mere sticks speaks volumes! How else can you effectually show the limit at which we can dominate the universe? Those pathetic limbs are good for nothing, which does more to say how we are helpless when dealt our hand in life and how the machine controls us through making our limbs, or life, so frail and useless.
And dare I say that the uniform representation of clothes is a comment on the growing Facism and Socialism of our society? That we march like drones to the same beat, to the very same rythym as our neighbors? I do think it does! Can it be that one size truly fit all in this society where we want the "man" to cater to our every whims and provide for us much like it tried to provide in Communist Russia?
...
*waits to see if you believe all that horse shit*
I haven't tried pine cones at all, so I'll take your advice once I google it to make sure you're not pulling my leg. lol.

Assuming that this hypothetical universe is one of many. It is what it is. You just cant observe it.

I haven't had enough pine cones in my diet lately, you have extras?
I thought I made my ponytail a little weird this time.
(I always draw a new comic from scratch)
